Yes, Lord. Thank you for reminding me that You are with me (us) always...in the stillness, in the quiet when I am not "doing" anything. It’s so easy to be fooled into thinking that You are only present in the spiritual "highs" of intensity in worship, prayer or service. Perhaps, I (we) have given too much authority to our feelings in measuring our walk with You.
We do love it when God’s mighty wind breaks a mountain into pieces or when He comes like an earthquake or a fire or an instant miracle. We are not sustained by those awesome events; but, by the steady unfailing presence of God and His "still small voice."
In praying for his wife and her battle with lymphoma, a young man in our church has been focused on Mark 4:26 to 29, and I find myself inspired and encouraged by these words.
"The Kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come!"
How awesome it is to know that the seeds of faith and healing, watered through love and prayer, are working day and night in Joanne’s body to bring a mighty harvest of healing!
