As God teaches me about being "awake " spiritually, I will share some thoughts with you from time to time.
To be awake in God is more than just being alert; being awake means being "aware" of the Holy Spirit, His sweetness, His goodness, His love, His honesty.
When He corrects us, He carries no resentment. He can be angry or grieved about our behaviours without any change in His love and devotion to us. He is one with the Word.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs......It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
Anger turns into resentment when it's not dealt with. Resentment is anger that's under the surface, hidden in the heart. It can last a lifetime unless surrendered to God. It destroys relationships, marriages and churches. These thoughts came to me today as I was reading the Bible. I am asking God to reveal the resentments in my heart and help me love like Him. As I practice walking in the Spirit, I become aware of attitudes that are not like His and He gives me the desire and the power to change.
